In addition, the Office of University Relations is responsible for designing and/or maintaining: The Office of University Relations is also responsible for providing technical support to academic and administrative departments monitoring department websites to ensure currency and compliance with the University’s web policies and sharing industry best practices with the campus community. Role of the Office of University Relations: The Director of University Relations and his/her staff are responsible for managing the overall look and navigational structure of the Eastern website, working collaboratively with Information Technology Services, other academic and administrative departments, and external contractors as required. Committee reports, including an annual report, shall be submitted to the President or designee. Reporting: Committee meetings shall be recorded and minutes distributed to members on a timely basis. Reports should be made through the chair to the President or his/her designee. Meetings: The committee shall meet at least once each semester during the academic year. The school colors are orange and black.The committee’s roles are to (1) recommend policy regarding the University’s website, including the development of best practice standards and guidelines (2) develop procedures to ensure adherence to the University’s web policies and standards and (3) serve as a sounding board to review website design and content issues. Įastern Tech lacks a 400-meter track as well as the number of fields that many high schools have and, as a result, many teams practice on other campuses around the Essex area, such as the neighboring Kenwood High School or CCBC Essex. In 2005 the Varsity Baseball Team won the school's first ever State Championship and just a few months later the Girls Varsity Soccer Team Won the second. Athletics Įastern Technical High School is known for the success of several of its sports teams. The 2019–2020 enrollment at Eastern Technical High School was 1172 students. On April 29, 2021, USNews ranked Eastern Tech as #132 high school in the nation. All students must apply, take an entrance exam, and meet certain standards for acceptance to the school.Įastern Technical High school received a 74.6 out of a possible 82.5 points (90%) on the 2018-2019 Maryland State Department of Education Report Card and received a 5 out of 5 star rating, ranking in the 99th percentile among all Maryland schools.
Unlike the other high schools in the area, Eastern Tech is not districted – it is not a "home" high school for any students regardless of location. In addition, the school offers various clubs like the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, a concert band, yearly drama productions by the Theater Club, and other such organizations.Įastern Technical High School used to be known as Eastern Vocational Technical High School (EVT, Eastern Voc-Tech), but due to lack of participation in the vocational program and an increased demand for technology education, the vocational program was removed and the school was renamed in 1994. The school features a variety of sports teams for both girls and boys. Academic areas include Allied Health, Business Management and Finance, Construction Management, Culinary Arts, Engineering Careers, Information Technology, Law Related Careers, Interactive Media Production and the Teacher Academy of Maryland. Along with their regular classes, students enrolled at this magnet school participate in a career major of their choosing.
